The latest edition to the Olde Farm Menagerie in March 2017 – Betsy Biscuit the Terrier-ist!
Olde Farm Holiday Cottages are run by Dalene and Alex Loyd. We moved from London to Norfolk in March 2014 with the intention of opening a business that would meet all the requirements that we would wish to find in a holiday cottage, especially ones that would welcome our pets as warmly as ourselves. We are passionate about making your stay with us as enjoyable as possible and are happy to help with any queries that you may have about your booking or stay with us. We are very happy to discuss your requirements by telephone or if you prefer please contact us by email. We offer an extensive food and non-food welcome pack as part of your stay and if you have any dietary requirements then please let us know and we will do our best to meet these. We include local organic produce as standard, along with our own eggs from Thelma, Louise, George and Bette and Dalene’s home made preserves, pickles, pates and whatever pies, bread, cakes, scones or biscuits she has made that day. In the cupboards you will find washing-up liquid, scrubbers, dishwasher tablets, tinfoil, clingfilm, handsoap, condiments, a range of oils, herbs & spices – nothing is more irritating than if you arrive and find that you have to go out to buy these!
Your pets (of any description, all creatures great and small) are very welcome at Olde Farm – we offer home made treats as part of the welcome pack and can provide blankets, feeding bowls, leads, collars, coats, litter trays, pooh bags, toys, etc – so if you forget something don’t worry it is very likely we will have spares. If you are intending to bring your rabbit or guinea pig then we can provide you with a hutch in the garden. If you want to bring your chickens, then they can bunk down with Thelma et al in the ‘Hen Palace’ and enjoy a holiday in Norfolk with you. We have dogs, cats, fish, ducks and chickens ourselves so know how important it is that they can travel with you and are made welcome and comfortable.
We have ample parking facilities available and you can drive to the door of your cottage to off-load if this is easier for you – particularly useful when it is wet or if like Dalene you don’t exactly travel light!
As mentioned above we are always very happy to discuss your requirements by phone – 01953 860906 – or if you prefer drop us an email to – firstname.lastname@example.org. We will always endeavour to reply to all enquiries within 24 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within this time it might mean that we haven’t received your e-mail (spam filters can be a little over zealous at times!) so please either resend or call us on the landline. Alternatively you can put pen to paper and write to us at Olde Farm, New Buckenham Road, Banham, NR16 2DA.
It helps us to make your booking as smooth and simple as possible if when you email or phone you have the following information at your fingertips:
- Dates of stay
- How many nights accommodation required
- How many adults
- How many children – will you be needing a travel cot and/or high chair
- Which pets will you be bringing with you
- Do you have any special requirements (dietary or access) required for your stay
- Which cottage/s would you like
Our mission here at Olde Farm is:
- to give people the best stay in a self-catering cottage they have ever had, and
- to welcome initial strangers and have them leave (and return) as friends.
We know that these might appear to seem ambitious aims but we believe from our reviews that we are achieving these – please read them on Trip Advisor (links on the right of this page) or Airbnb (click links below) and see if you agree! You will also find a visitors book in each cottage in which guests have left reviews in addition to the ones on-line.
