We have been busy over the winter months and the extended playground is now completed and the trampoline is just waiting to be used. The Wendy House ‘Chez Truro’ has had a Spring makeover and now to go with it’s newly painted exterior has had a new Little Tikes play kitchen installed. We currently have three ducks nesting around the gardens – fingers crossed we should have some new hatchlings to join us shortly. We look forward to seeing you here at Olde Farm and sharing it with you.
Fascinating to walk around the garden this morning and see in the snow what creatures had been visiting during the night and early morning to forage for the food I have left out for them in their various feeding stations – I found evidence of deer, rabbits, foxes, pheasants, mice and lots of cat and duck prints! Every cloud has a silver lining and the snow has enabled me to see how blessed we are with so many creatures living alongside us. When you come to stay here at Olde Farm you will be able to see these wonderful creatures sharing our gardens for yourself, though some nights you have to be patient as they can be very shy. In these Winter months if you wrap up warm and sit in the gazebo as the light fades you can see the wildlife emerge from their day time hides and start to feed, in the warmer months you will also see the hedgehogs and their families wandering across the lawns as dusk falls. Truly magical!
Awoke to such a thick covering of snow this morning, but so beautiful.
Delighted to announce that following our recent inspection by Visit England the Borrowers has been upgraded from 4* Gold to 5* and The Bee’s Knees has retained it’s 4* Gold Award. Now we really are offering oficially a 5* experience! We have lots of plans for improvements in the gardens over the coming months – the Spring bulbs are already starting to break through and the shrubs are all in bud. Snow today here, but that just makes it look like everything has been covered in sparkling icing sugar. Make sure to book your visit and come and experience our warm welcome and unique welcome pack which to quote from our recent report: “Guests receive a personal welcome and are provided with probably the best welcome package I have seen. Produce is either home made or locally sourced and the store cupboard groans with goodies. Pets are also extremely well looked after.”
‘From Olde Farm’ blog now about to be launched, please visit regularly to find out what is going on down at the farm and with its inhabitants – furred, feathered and human!
