Over the last few year’s we’ve created movie history, repeatedly broken our own records and are proud to have created “The Ultimate Family Day Out” at the Airshow
We must be doing something right; we’re delighted to have won the coveted title of “Family Event of the Year” at the EDP Hoseasons Tourism Awards in 2016.
Once again we’re attempting to improve on past glories such as the truly unique moment when Honor Blackman (Pussy Galore) was reunited with her ‘Goldfinger’ helicopter after fifty years, a unique piece of history of which all other Airshows are jealous. Honor is not the only Hollywood star to have visited the Airshow; every year the most famous Spitfire of all, MH434, steals the show. For 2018 we are delighted to start as we mean to go on; the first aircraft to be booked was the extraordinary ‘Sally B’ star of Memphis Belle and the only flying B-17 in Europe. Sally is coming back for a record third consecutive Airshow. The tale of just how this 25 tonne leviathan is still flying is as remarkable as the aircraft herself. Fittingly she is named for the remarkable lady who keeps her flying; Elly Sallingboe. You can find out more about Sally, Elly and a true ‘Castle in the Sky’ on the Air Displays Page.
On the ground there is so much to see and do we’ve had to make a weekend of it. Have a look at the ‘On the Ground’ page in the menu to find out about the Gourmet Food Village, Ice Cream Revolution, Attack and Destroy Bar, hundreds of classic cars, 453rd Museum and a host of stalls and exhibits.
Very few shows allow you to take the controls of a range of exotic aircraft, and fewer still allow you to witness the very best pilots in aviation flying the greatest and most famous aircraft on Earth. Hover over the logo at the top of the page to find out why Old Buckenham was the only Airshow to make Country Life’s list of the 100 events making up the ‘Greatest Summer Ever’.
